Boho basket flip

One of the many perks of diys is that they are budget friendly. Designer things cost ridiculous amounts of money, and with a diy, you can add your own flare to something for a fraction of the price. This basket has been sitting in my living room for a few months now and I have been thinking of things to make it work for my style. It really made me think creatively and use the things I already had laying around.
I got this basket at goodwill and walked by it many times not even noticing it. When I finally did, I realized the size was perfect for a living basket for extra pillows and blankets, but of course for decor. I scored this big basket for only $10!
At first glance, I didn't love the dark rope that was on it so I started by cutting it all off and unraveling it. Once I had done that, I measured how long one rope around the basket was and cut 3 strands of macrame to the same length and started weaving it through.
I continued around the basket till I got to the bottom row and then hot glued the ends on the inside so it would all stay put together. I then used some Caron Simply Soft yarn in the color Tweed for some tassels. I liked this particular yarn because it has little specks of other neutral colors in the strands. With this yarn I spent (the longest part of the project) making tons of tassels to place on the basket. Once I had enough, I tied them on at first randomly but then I didn't end up liking how it looked, so I took them off and tied them in a specific pattern across the front of the basket.
And that's it! This was such a fun and cheap flip. I'm sure a basket this style would cost more than the $10 I spent to create this.

Next is my pillows, so stay tuned for that!!!
Stay thrifty, I'll catch you later!
