$30 Chunky Finger Knit blanket

One hour! One hour! That's how long it took me to knit this blanket!
I completed this blanket by finger knitting which is now one of my favorite techniques. I can't believe how easy this project was. It's definitely not a blanket you would grab when you're shivering in your home in the winter, but it makes a great pop of color and texture for your couch!
I bought 4 skeins of this yellow Bernat blanket big yard, but I actually only used about 3 and a half skeins in the end.

This process is very repetitive and very fast. To start I made a chain of 20 chains for my edge of the blanket. This is literally the hardest part, and it's not even hard lol. Just make sure to keep the tightness the same throughout making the blanket, or you will have stiff places in the blanket, and loose places in other areas. You can go as long as you want, but I liked the width of the 20 chains for my blanket. I then basically looped yarn through each chain till I made it to the end. This process is a back and forth technique. You also have to keep your yarn loose and not pulling on it, as it will make your loops different lengths and your blanket won't be very square in the end.
That's it. Back and forth. Loopy loop. Back and forth, until you reach your desired length for the blanket. Once you reach your desired length, you then cut off the excess yarn, but make sure to leave some for tucking. Then with each loop, tuck them into each other all the way across while connecting them, this creates your other edge. Then, tuck any excess yarn into the weaves of the blanket. You're done!

I love how this blanket looks on my couch, it adds lots of texture and it's a very fun fall yellow💛. Definitely worth the try, if I can do it, so can you!!

Stay tuned for more DIYs!

Stay Thrifty! 💛
